Two Tracks make it on Zia’s 10th Local Music Comp

We are proud to announce that two tracks have officially made it into Zia Records’ “You Heard Us Back When” Volume 10. Fairy Bones – Yeah Pretty Yeah Captain Squeegee – Shift Happens Grab them before they go fast on Record Store Day, April 16th! From Zia Records’ blog: “Zia Records is proud to announce the release and track list of our newest local music compilation, You Heard Us Back When, Volume 10, on sale at all Zia stores on National Record Store Day, Saturday April 16th! This year, marks the 10th installment of our You Heard Us Back When Phoenix/Tucson/Las Vegas local music compilation. We released our first comp way back on the inaugural Record Store Day in 2008, inspired by the compilations we put out in the ’80s and ’90s. Throughout the YHUBW series, we’ve showcased a wide variety of the sounds from the cities Zia calls home and raised thousands of dollars for locally-based charities. This year, we’re excited to feature more sounds than ever before, spread across two discs. From funk to punk, rock to hip-hop, these discs represent the wide variety of sounds happening in our hometowns. From established artists like Mega Ran, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and The Vermin to up-and-coming bands like the Endless Pursuit, Found in Fiction and Resurgence Girls, the comp features 41 songs for $3 dollars – a great Record Store Day deal, with proceeds going to charity! In addition to the two-disc compilation, we’re making a special 10th anniversary collection available on Record Store Day as well. Featuring songs culled from our previous volumes, the collection offers a snap shot of some...

80/20 supports Arizona Gives Day!

To support Arizona Gives Day any purchases made from our store we will double up to $100 to give to Phoenix Conservatory of Music. From Arizona Gives Day website: “Arizona Gives Day is a single statewide day of giving that has raised $4.5 million for Arizona nonprofits since 2013. Participating nonprofits also receive training, marketing support, and a chance to win a portion of $175,000 in prize money. Arizona nonprofits do much more than provide necessary services to our communities – they are an integral part of our state’s economy. Annually, they have an economic impact of $22.4 billion, or nearly 8% of Arizona’s gross state product1, and employ 324,000 people2. Monetary donations are the most direct way to help a nonprofit make an impact: they allow nonprofits to allocate funds where they are most needed. Arizona Gives Day is focused on helping participating nonprofits raise funds that are critical to supporting their work.” From Phoenix Conservatory of Music website: “Over the years The Phoenix Conservatory of Music has demonstrated it’s passion proving sustainability and success while benefiting children, families and the community at large with affordable, accessible and quality music education. Even giving opportunities to those who may not otherwise be given. There is still funding and donations needed to help us continue serving as a resource to fill the gap where music education is needed. With every note played or every voice heard lives are forever changed here. The smiles and confidence of our students reveal how music is an expression of the soul. This gives us fulfillment, meaning and purpose to continue to advance the love of music, nurture the...
