Captain Squeegee Release Music Video For “Dually Noted”
Full-length Album To The Bardos! Available Now
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Captain Squeegee is thrilled to release the music video to “Dually Noted,” the definitive single off their full-length album To The Bardos! The music video was directed by filmmaker Freddie Paull.
“Dually Noted” is a zany satire of popular talent shows such as American Idol, The Voice, and America’s Got Talent. The video features lead singer Danny Torgersen as one of the contestants and discovers that not everything is what it appears to be. From spectacle dance-numbers on the stage to meeting the deity Baphomet in the bowels of Limbo, this video will take you on journey that only Captain Squeegee can guide you through.
Electric Legends Pictures’ founder Freddie Paull has directed successful music videos, such as Bogan Via’s “Kanye” and Harrison Fjord’s “Approximately 906 Miles.” Paull has won several awards including 2013 RAW Arizona’s Filmmaker of the Year, as well as having his films screened at the Other Venice Film Festival and the American Online Film Awards.
This is the fifth music video for Captain Squeegee’s To The Bardos! album. The previous videos for “The Factory” and “Seek” were directed by Matty Steinkamp, while “Inevitable” and “The Farce 500-Million” were directed by Johnny McHone, animator of Adult Swim shows Mr. Pickles and Robot Chicken. All four have been screened at the 2016 Phoenix Comicon Film Festival.
Born into the Phoenix ska scene in 2002, Captain Squeegee has dramatically expanded their sound by brazenly pushing the boundaries of indie-rock with their eccentric show and style. Their horn-driven instrumentation, metaphysical lyrics, and intense multi-media performances, has hailed them “one of the toughest acts in town to follow” and “prepared to headline Coachella, tomorrow” (Jeff Moses, Modern Times Magazine).
While their performance has not limited the seven member group, they have collaborated with other ensembles such as the ASU Concert Jazz Band and the MCC Orchestra to create incredible musical extravaganzas. With three studio albums under their belt, they continue to churn out new music while opening for national acts such as Parliament Funkadelic, Foxy Shazaam, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Widespread Panic, Beck, and performed at an official CMJ showcase at Rockwood Music Hall in 2015. They also performed on the main stage at McDowell Mountain Music Festival and the main ULine Stage and Rebel Stage at Summerfest Music Festival in Milwaukee in 2016.
