Turn Zero releases newest single, ‘Petty’

Turn Zero releases newest single, ‘Petty’

Listen here Valentine’s Day, a time to celebrate love in all of its forms—even the darker side that takes you straight to your feels. That’s what you get when you listen to Phoenix, Arizona-based, alternative rock band Turn Zero’s latest single, ‘Petty’. We all feel for a relationship where something didn’t quite work out, and you wish you could walk in their shoes and try to understand how the other person lives while knowing what they left behind. This emotion-driven song crescendos with a beautiful duet between lead vocalist Emily Grieve and Love Like Fiction’s vocalist Nick Barker. ‘Petty’ is a ballad / bop about the slow demise of a relationship between two unfaithful lovers who become dramatically different to each other. The song is broken up by an amazing guitar solo by John Curtis-Sanchez which tugs at the feels even further. Accentuated by Branden Mosley, this guitar solo comes at the perfect time in the song’s structure. Meanwhile, bassist Ash Hendrickson weaves dreamy, rhythmic bass lines with the consistent, powerful drumming from Ben Palmer. Overall, the song communicates a “love-stalgic” expression of what it’s like to be with someone, have them leave, and then wonder what could have gone differently. Fresh off the bands’ first release with 80/20 Records in November, Turn Zero has kept it fresh, and kept it real. After performing at the Ultimate Ear booth at NAMM in January, and an upcoming  this local Phoenix band is on its way to becoming a household name. Continuing to use their emotions as a driver, this newcomer surges forward with passion and fearlessness; and we can’t wait to hear...

Mega Ran’s surprise winter 2019 release “AGES” comes at an opportune time, as it places a bow on a breakthrough year personally and professionally. Released to celebrate a successful Kickstarter campaign that will bring his “Black Materia” album back in 2020, AGES covers parts of Ran’s awkward journey through youth to adulthood, and includes the remix to the standout single “HOME.” Tracks are produced by the late EOM, newcomers The Alumni and Mat Mania Podcast contributor G1. Lead singer Emily Grieve was a ranked Pokemon player, competing in official tournaments throughout the U.S. and Canada.  In both the TCG (Trading Card Game) and video game she has won in several cities and states, as well as placing in Worlds. In fact, the band name has a little bit of history behind it. Turn Zero refers to competitive card games when time is called to end the match and the player that is in the middle of their turn is considered “turn zero”.  The significance lies in the fact that the members have been each pursuing music in different ways over the years and when they all came together it just clicked. It was the beginning of the end of a chapter, and they’re one step closer to winning, or should I say, achieving their dreams. Turn Zero will be opening for Drake Bell at Mesa Amphitheatre on March 7th, 2020....
