Full-Length Album Dramabot Available Now
(Phoenix, March 25, 2016) – Fairy Bones is excited to release via Phoenix New Times the music video to “Notes From Wonderland,” off their full-length album Dramabot. The music video was directed by Brandon McGill and Chelsey Louise and features Seth Powers as the lead role of Alice. “Notes from Wonderland” takes a unique twist on the “Alice in Wonderland” theme by introducing an intense and sordid love between Alice (Seth Powers) and Red Queen (Chelsey Louise). Alice wakes up in a bizarre, underground world where he meets the sleazy Caterpillar (Matthew Foos), the psychopathic Cheshire Cat (Robert Ciuca), and the gluttonous Mad Hatter (Ben Foos). On his way to meet the Red Queen to put an end to their sadistic relationship, he is consumed by the deviant behavior of her Kingdom’s subjects.
After debuting his documentary Beneath The Surface at Phoenix Comicon, Brandon McGill has returned with his first music video directorial debut, “Notes from Wonderland.” McGill, an accomplished body painter, is intrigued by creative extremes. Dark textures, inventive prosthetics, and dashes of negative space live harmoniously with a vivid color palate.
Making her third directorial appearance, Chelsey Louise’s “Waiting” music video was widely praised: Phoenix New Times featured the release of the video, calling it “one demented house party,” while both Sounds Around Town and azcentral called it one of the “Best Music Videos of 2014.”
Recently named “Best Local Band” by Phoenix New Times in 2015, Fairy Bones combine their talents to create a style of rock n’ roll all their own. Comprised of singer-songwriters Chelsey Louise and Robert Ciuca, they teamed up with brothers Matthew and Ben Foos to released their self-titled EP on 80/20 Records in 2013. In 2015, they successfully crowdfunded their debut full length, Dramabot, recorded at Flying Blanket Studios and produced by Bob Hoag (The Format, The Ataris, Scary Kids Scaring Kids). Fairy Bones has played 200+ shows since 2013, including McDowell Mountain Music Festival, an official CMJ Showcase, toured the Southwest extensively, and opened for Alien Ant Farm, Mother Mother, Kongos, PYYRAMIDS, and Hell or Highwater. Their singles have notably been spun on KWSS, KUKQ, and NPR.
