Have you ever found yourself at a show thinking “Man I really wish this band would bust into a Backstreet Boys cover right about now?” Well neither have I. But this Friday, December 18th five local bands will take over The Rogue Bar in Scottsdale for a night of exclusively embarrassing cover songs for the 2nd ever Guilty Pleasures Show presented by 80/20 Records.
Last year’s Guilty Pleasures Show featuring Sunset Voodoo, The Hill in Mind, and 80/20’s own Fairy Bones is going to be extremely hard to top, especially packing out the venue. But this year’s lineup might just be crazy enough to do it. On the bill will be local legends of weird; The Woodworks. The new kings of crash; Bear Ghost. Cockbeak; a collaboration between Robert Ciuca from Fairy Bones and Manny Tripodis owner of The Rogue Bar. And in the absence of an official 80/20 Records band we will have two of our intern’s bands as well, The Darling Sounds and Captive Cooks.
Since we are throwing this epic show on the very night Disney releases their first Star Wars film, you guys are all encouraged to come to The Rogue bar wearing your nerdiest Star Wars attire. Don’t hold back! You can see the movie literally anytime after it comes out, so spend your Friday night with us celebrating the songs you hate to love in 80/20 fashion.
Hope to see you Ewoks there!
